Daniel Brylewski

(born 1982)

 

Pianist, chamber musician, passionate interpreter of twentieth century and new music. He studied at the Fryderyk Chopin Academy of Music with Bronislawa Kawalla (piano), Jerzy Artysz (opera singing) and Maciej Paderewski (chamber music). 

Continuing his piano studies in Switzerland at the Hochschule der Künste Bern with Tomasz Herbut, Pierre Sublet and Louise Hopkins he achieved the Concert Diploma with honors in 2011. In the season 2011/12 he was a member of the International Academy Ensemble Modern in Frankfurt am Main (IEMA). He developed his style of interpretation working with artists as Thomas  Adés,  Peter  Ruzicka,  Luca Francesconi, Franck  Ollu,  Ueli  Wiget,  Hermann  Kretschmar,  Nicolas Hodges, Stephan  Winkler or Rüdiger Bohn (European Workshop for Contemporary Music).

Daniel Brylewski is a winner of the International Competition of Contemporary Chamber Music in Cracov (First Prize for Piano Duo, 2008), Milosz Magin Competition in Paris (special prize for interpretation) and finalist of the International Competition of Contemporary Music “Nicati” in Bern (2012). In 2013/14 he won a scholarship from the Swiss Foundation “Clavarte”. Since 2014 he is the pianist of the “Chromoson” New Music Ensemble (South Tyrol, Italy). 

Daniel Brylewski performed at many international contemporary music festivals like Warsaw Autumn, UltraSchall Berlin, Musikfestival Bern, TransArt Neustift, Manifeste Paris, Frankfurt Cresc, Royaumont Festival, Darmstadt Festival, Festival Donaueschingen and others.
